I
am a web and graphics designer
and I enjoy my profession because
I have always shown a lot of interest
in art ever since I was a child
and it is my hobby. So this gives
me the opportunity not only to
earn my bread but also fulfills
my personal satisfaction. I feel
designing and constructing a Website
is like a piece of art. I get
very excited when the Website
I designed turns out nice and
user friendly this gives the same
pleasure when someone comments
about my paintings, It makes me
proud and self satisfied about
my work.
As soon as I completed my computer
science degree in India, I worked
as a graphic designer in a news
paper company called "Dinamalar"
and also played badminton for
their team for the inter club
championship. As a graphics designer
I started creating small graphics
and cartoons for their newspaper
comedy column and that's how I
began my journey into the computer
graphics world. I am proud to
say many of my graphics were published
in the newspaper and was very
pleased about it. But unfortunately
my badminton team didn't make
it to the championship in the
two years I represented them,
but the truth is I won my singles
and doubles but rest of the team
lost the remaining three matches
which became a disappointing end
but stilled I enjoyed my stay
there.
After going back to Sri Lanka
I joined couple of places working
out side my career and then I
got a chance to work at VIRTUSA
a leading IT company in Sri Lanka
in 1998, which was based in Boston,
USA. I joined the graphics designing
team and started creating graphics
and web pages for their applications.
This is where I learnt how to
create graphics and web pages
for the websites and from here
my journey was a great experience.
After that I moved to Australia
and started working as a freelance
web and graphics designer and
also worked in few companies too.
The freelance work I did for the
clients gave me lots of experience
in managing projects and some
required to come up with new concept
and always worked according to
the deadlines. So I got lot more
experience working alone from
home with many clients and have
worked in over 100 websites so
far in the last 7 years in Australia. |
